Founder Dmitriy Tsurkin-Appin
Before founding WoodDeckS’ON, Dmitriy developed his craft through more than 15 years of hands-on construction experience — first in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and for the past 4+ years in Winnipeg, Canada. His work has always been rooted in carpentry: building, repairing, shaping, and finishing wood structures both outside and inside the home.
In Winnipeg, his experience includes hands-on carpentry, crew leadership, and project management while working with established local companies. During that time, he contributed to deck projects in Manitoba that received local industry recognition — experience that helped shape the standards he brings into WoodDeckS’ON today.
His background includes decks, fences, railings, stairs, outdoor structures, interior woodwork, surface preparation, repairs, and finishing details. Over the years, he has continued to expand his knowledge of wood, materials, structure, durability, and the details that make a project not only look good, but last.
Today, WoodDeckS’ON is built on those standards: solid structure, smart material choices, durable surfaces, careful finishing, and honest communication from estimate to final build.
